The most commonly used materials for roller shutter slats are: alloy coated steel - Zincalume ® by BHP Steel Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Pre-painted Zincalume ®, Colorbond ™ by BHP Steel Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Galvanized Steel, Pre-painted Steel, and Pre-painted Mild Steel.

The thickness for the shutter curtains vary from 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm to 1.6mm, depending on the preferred material.
